Aunjanue Ellis

Aunjanue E. Taylor, an American stage actress and producer, is known for playing in the feature film Ray Undercover Brother as well as appearing in The Mentalist. She received a Bachelor of Arts in African-American Studies at Brown University and also a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University. Aunjanue is l. Ellis, an American producer and actress who has performed in theatre and television as well, is present on both sides of the screen. Her acting career began in the theater. Later, she was a part of various television series, independent films and mainstream films. She came to prominence as Miranda Shaw on ABC's Quantico and appeared on BET's epic show The Book of Negroes for which she received not just critical acclaim but also a number of awards and nominations including the Television Critics Choice Award nomination for the Best Actress in a Movie. In 1995, she was the first to appear in the role of Ariel on the stage as Ariel in The Tempest. Her credits on stage include The Broadway performance of Joe Turner's Come and Gone A Winter's Tale Drowning Crow as well as Seeking the Genesis. In her film career, she's best known for performances such as Men of Honor The Caveman's Valentine The Express or The Help. On television, her part on ABC's drama about police High Incident is well known.
